It is not every day that I feel really proud of one of my children.  Tonight my daughter, Sarah, aged 11 years has made my heart sing with joy.  Why?  Tonight Sarah honoured her mother with the privilege of working with her to record a song I wrote.

All I can say is that I am so moved by the experience of working with my daughter who has such a great voice for one so young.

I’ll let you judge for yourself.

I saw this video and it really impacted me again about how important it is that we appreciate and enjoy every second that we have on this planet. That we willingly and with full heart passionately pursue that which is in our hearts – our dreams and our visions.

There is an old saying and I know it to be true, how sad it is that a musician should go to the grave with a song left unsung within them and a tune left unplayed.

I encourage all of you to look inside and find your passion, connect with it, breathe it, dream it, live it and see how different life becomes for you.  See the sparkle of joy enter your world!

This is the winner of the Ukraine, You’ve Got Talent Quest. Her name is Kseniya Simonova and she is a sand animator. Her work has to be seen to be believed. Not only is she a seamless artist, but also a beautiful story teller through her artwork.

This is the most inspirational use of the artist gift that I have seen in a very long time. Well deserving of her first prize of approximate $125,000 US, this young lady’s gift is truly phenomenal.

As all artists will tell you, the end product is a game of hit and miss. This young lady is very accurate. Each image transforms into the next and every addition or subtraction is completely inspired and integral to the next piece. It’s simply amazing and must be seen to be believed.

Awesome!!!

“Simonova seemlessly moves from scene to scene sculpting and drizzling sand over a light table. This emotional performance is about World War II and the Germany invasion of the Soviet Union. I am not a native Ukrainian (although one of my great-grandmothers was) and cannot understand all of the symbolism or understand the lyrics to the accompanying music, but this performance moved me, just as it did the folks in the audience,” says Jamie Freedman from Examiner.com and I agree completely.

Her is another piece by Simonova…

0083June Kelly is a Perth based successful Real Estate Principal, who has transitioned into the next phase of her life.  She is currently working with people as a Life Coach, helping them to build the life that they want to live.  Previously her goal was to make money to provide financial security for herself and her family.  Now she has realised that you can have money, but that doesn’t necessarily guarantee happiness and contentment as these come from a much deeper place of being connected to others and doing the the things that make you shine.

Listen now to June’s tips on how to create the life you want to live as heard on the All Things Women program on 89.7FM Twin Cities Radio program on 19 May 2009.

“Whatever we do in life we are playing a game.  Whatever game we are playing we are winning.  It is either we are winning at losing weight or we are winning at gaining it. What will it take for us to play the game we want and to win at that game?” – June Kelly

banner-all-things-womenToday was my music therapy day in the studio at 89.7FM Radio, Twin Cities FM.

I have to say that I look forward to Thursdays. It is the highlight of my week, when I get to have 3 hours uninterrupted time in the radio studio, playing music I love or just going with the flow of the auto playlist. Today we were discussing how to be more creative in your life, so I thought I’d post on here some of the tips.

The three tips I shared with listeners who wanted to be more creative were:

1. Spend time viewing creative things. As we see we are inspired.
2. Spend time with creative people. You become like those you hang around.
3. Spend time exploring creative activities. As we explore we release our emotions and embrace new experiences.

I invited Emma Sheridan and Dominique Mok to join me in the studio and we discussed at length how you you can increase your creativity. Some of the points were:

- join clubs that offer creative activities like craft groups etc
- visit creative places like art museums, theatres, movies, exhibitions etc
- spend time in nature looking at the wonderful patterns and feels
- take some lessons eg go TAFE and learn a new skill
- make room in your life for creativity – set aside time and money for resources

To be creative all you need is to engage your imagination. Everyone can story tell, express themselves through some form of art etc.

The other thought that we shared is that you may have to try a few different creative expressions until you find the one that you really love. Try not to be afraid of that exploration process because there is no such thing as a failure. It is all about learning what works for you.

The overriding thought was that we are all creative in some way. Whether it be in the clothes you choose or the vehicle you drive, we all make creative decisions every day. Enjoy this process!

I met Amy Robbins-Wilson on Pink Collar Club on Ning.com. I thought I’d go and check out her site because I just loved the joy I could see in her relationship with her husband from the photos on her page.

I was delighted to find on her site that she is a singer, Irish style. I have a love of Irish music. The haunting sound of a solo voice has always been really appealing to me. I just loved listening to her sing and thought I’d share it with all my friends who read the All Things Women blog.

Enjoy!
