I don’t know about how other people feel…perhaps they are more refined than I…but I feel that there is something awesome about seeing your name in print. I’m not sure what it is…perhaps it’s just some kind of validation that you actually created something worthy of printing…or maybe that someone else thought your writing was good enough to make it into print. All I know is that when I got my copy of Finally at 40 Magazine today containing the three feature articles that I wrote it was kind of like a full circle, completion kind of feeling.
I must have looked like a child with a new toy when I proudly thrust the magazine under my husband’s nose and said, “Look at this…and this…and this…and this!” I could see that he was actually impressed. He was seeing the fruit of my labour. He knew I was doing some writing for a magazine, but I don’t think he really valued it until he saw it there in cold hard gloss paper, LOL.
I feel like busting open the bubbly and celebrating…just like I did when we put together our very first edition of Pearls Women’s Magazine and we received the 5000 copies in cartons that filled our loungeroom from floor to ceiling. The bubble burst a little when we had to shift them, to weigh them to work out if all the copies were actually in the box and then to check every copy to make sure it was in tact. That part was not so exciting!!!
Ahhhhh…just had to share the moment cause I know some who read this blog will totally relate. So have a virtual bubbly on me!

Congratulations! It’s always a buzz
… BTW your story “Manna from Heaven” will be in the next issue of Footprints, so another one to add to your clippings folder!
Fabulous, Janet. Thanks so much for that. I’m sure the Manna from Heaven story will encourage people, even if they don’t believe in God. How could you not after that story?
