When we don’t know what we are supposed to do, or there is indecision in our hearts, we wander along unstable. But when we feel that unction of knowing in our hearts, it’s kind of like the unseen aligns with our purpose and things start to fall into place. This is how the Uganda Mission is panning out for me. Initially I just said, Yes, to the invitation because it was a lovely thought. Then the reality struck home and I wandered along, needing that stronger unction about going. Well that unction came this week with the memory of a pact I had made with God when I was 18 years of age. I told God that I would be one of the few but the most courageous who would be willing to serve humanity in whatever capacity I was required to.
Well, remembering that commitment I made I was encouraged, liberated actually, to embrace the call of Africa.
I don’t know what lays ahead of me. I do know what I have in my plethora of abilities and talents that I can offer and I am very excited to be taking the performing arts and worship with me to Africa. I am very sure that I will learn more than I will impart, as that is the nature of life. We learn from each other and we grow into what we need to be through these kinds of opportunities. I’m just grateful to have not been forgotten by God.
